Dear Students,
Hey guys, my name is Elina Mantrali and I am the Social Secretary for 2011/2012. My job is to organise the Law Society’s various events, from the Fresher’s Party to the glamorous Annual Ball in some of London’s more exclusive clubs and venues. For me, the parties organised by the Law Society have been some of my most fun nights out in London, and I hope that I will equally provide the same for you. The parties are a great way to meet people from our course, but they are also open for you to bring any friends you like.
As Social Secretary, my responsibility is to make sure that you have a great time while you are here, getting the most out of London not just academically, but also socially. Demanding as a Law course can be, the events we put on are a great opportunity to let go and have some fun in one of the world’s greatest cities. Furthermore, the Law Society’s events are sponsored by several top range law firms and are also attended by representatives of those law firms. As such, apart from getting to meet fellow lawyers, these events are also an opportunity for the necessary networking that is part of a future lawyer’s life.
Landing in London can be quite daunting in the beginning – it is a massive city, and with everything being an option, choosing becomes an issue. The idea behind these events is to give you some bearings in discovering London as well as the chance to meet people who are also living and studying here.
