Dear Students,

I hope this brochure find you in good health and spirits. I would like to first to congratulate every single one of you for being accepted into one of the most prestigious Universities in the world. In September, you will commence your first year of law school, and we are very glad to have you join us. At the Law Society, we strive to create a collegial and family oriented environment in which we are working towards a common goal of academic and career success for all our members. Through a significant amount of events, and networking opportunities with large city law firms, and seminars with the countries leaders in the legal profession, we strive to ensure that every law student reaches their full potential not only in their academic careers, but also as future leaders in the legal profession.

As the Vice President of the Law Society, I organize many of the first year events. For instance, I compile this booklet, as well as organize our presence at the KCL welcome fair. As this is a fantastic opportunity to meet with you, and to learn more about KCLLS, and to learn more about other societies at Kings, I encourage everyone to attend. The Welcome Fair is also provides the opportunity to sign up for societies and meet classmates before the term begins. Furthermore, as Vice President, I work closely with the President to ensure that the society runs in a smooth and effective manner, to ensure our members receive all the benefit the society has to offer.

In addition to the Welcome Fair, I organize the annual Book Fair, which will be held at the Great Hall at the Strand Campus which will enable students to purchase all their most (if not all) of their books at significantly discounted prices. As my Great Nan always said, “save money wherever you can”!

And finally, I will be organizing the Peer-Advising program for first year Kings law students. This mentorship program will partner a first year student with a second and third year law student, and provide guidance and assistance in anything from study tips, to funding, to the KCLLS social events.

I hope to meet every one of you at the Welcome fair. Feel free to email me, or visit the law society website at kcllawsociety.org.uk. .

Nima Mahdavi

Vice-President
