Sebastian Multala, Vice President
I hope that this brochure finds you in good health and thoroughly enjoying the rest of your summer holidays. In September you will be commencing your first year at King’s College London School of Law, and we are very glad to have you join us. Our task is to be there for you from day one – to introduce you both to life in London in general and at King’s in specific. We offer events aimed at opening doors into the social as well as vocational aspects of university life that influenced many of you to choose King’s.
As Vice President I am responsible for many of our first-year events. For instance, I compile this booklet and organise the Law Society’s presence at the KCL Welcome Fair, to be held from the 23rd to the 24th of September at Debut Nightclub by London Bridge. As this is a fantastic opportunity to meet with, and find out more about, KCLLS and the other societies at the College, I sincerely encourage all of you to attend. The Welcome Fair also offers the opportunity to sign up to societies and meet your classmates before term start.
Furthermore, I organise the annual Law Book Fair (held on the October 9th at Waterloo campus), where students may put up for sale any course material they no longer require. As many of your courses will be set core-modules, you should take the opportunity to buy recent (and often the latest) material at a considerably discounted rate compared to retailers.
Finally, I would like to leave you with one last thought; KCLLS is a society for everyone. We offer events to ensure that your years at King’s are well spent; I refer you to Holly and Dan. Through association with leading institutions within and without the City of London we seek to equip you for a successful future; whether you are looking into a career as a barrister, solicitor, teacher, or indeed as anything else – Lea and John will keep your schedule busy.
I look forward to seeing many of you in September at the induction day Fresher’s Drinks at the Knight’s Templar, and I hope that together we can make this yet another fantastic year to be a member of the KCL Law Society. ...
